Last of the Summer Fruits

With the gorgeous sunshine, alfresco dining and summer activities, we don’t want to wave goodbye to summer just yet. Before the weather changes for us to dig out a warm jacket and ditch the barbecue, we want to make the most of the outdoors and relax with our family and friends with a fantastic Ketel One cocktail… And it’s not too late to enjoy some lovely summer fruits along with it.

The summer is the best time to use fresh fruits in every possible recipe, for both food and drink. Our bartenders love to include the latest seasonal ingredient in some delicious summer cocktails.

Berries are at their very best late in the season and are the perfect complement to a juicy cocktail. In August, raspberries and plums in particular are still in season, and lend themselves to be full of flavour to whatever drink they’re muddled in. They are great to create alternatives to all-time classic cocktails too, such as the Raspberry Mule and the Plum Daiquiri.

However, one of our favourite cocktails is the Mesha – full to the brim of fruity notes. Have a go at this recipe and enjoy the last heatwave of the year!

Mesha

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Ketel One Citroen Vodka
  • 20ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 20ml Fresh Pineapple Juice
  • 15ml Triple Sec
  • 15ml Falernum
  • 5 Fresh Raspberries
  • 1 Large Fresh Strawberry
  • 1 Bay Leaf

Method:

Shake all the ingredients with ice and fine strain into a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon sugared rim.
