National Tomato Day

Once referred to as the “golden apple,” the tomato dates back as far as 1493* and has since become a favourite in many Brazilian dishes, resulting in them celebrating the Tomato on the 1st February every year.

Many other countries around the world also celebrate the tomato, including Spain who celebrate a little later on in the year with their infamous La Tomatina festival, in which participants throw tomatoes at each other**.  We on the other hand celebrate this much loved fruit with a family favourite cocktail…

Our Ketel One Tomatini, the little sister to the traditional Bloody Mary, is a light pick-me-up with a delicious savoury note. The perfect cocktail to enjoy on National Tomato Day, so why not give it a whirl? You won’t regret it.
