How to make the perfect Cosmopolitan


The martini glass is the perfect vessel for a great Cosmopolitan, but why we hear you cry? The long stem means there’s less of a chance the cocktail will be warmed up by your hands, which is important when there’s no room for ice. To make doubly sure our Cosmos stay cold we chill the glass beforehand.  


Whilst many recipes use an original vodka, we prefer to use our Ketel One Citroen, which takes its flavour from the oils of some of the best lemons in the world. The citrus twist adds a delicate honey sweetness to our Cosmo – believe us, once you’ve tried it you won’t go back.


We take a very classic approach using cranberry juice as the base of our Cosmopolitan, which not only produces that traditional taste we all recognise and love, but also produces the vibrant pink colour. We finish this off with a splash of Triple Sec which adds a deeper flavour to the cocktail and pairs beautifully with our Ketel One Citroen. 


This small twist of lemon may look small and insignificant but you couldn’t be more wrong. This small twist of lemon isn’t just for show but if used correctly can add the finishing touch to take your great Cosmopolitan to an extraordinary Cosmopolitan. Firstly, make sure you twist the peel over the top of your cocktail to ensure it catches all the magnificent oils and give it a quick rub around the top edges of the glass – it’s all in the detail.
