Strawberries: The Cream of the Crop

With evenings becoming lighter and warmer, it’s time to wave a fond farewell to thick jumpers and winter vegetables and celebrate National Strawberry Month with us and our latest juicy cocktail. 

Strawberries were first introduced to cocktails after the creation of the Daiquiri. Stepping into the limelight around 1902, the Daiquiri became a much loved cocktail. It was later modified in the 1930’s by ‘El Grande Constante’ (as he was known) who created the frostier version we all know and love today. Variations of the Daiquiri were endless; many different flavours were added to the cocktail including one of our favourites…strawberry.

Although the Daiquiri is a well-loved classic, our bartender family couldn’t help but create a delicious twist on such a classic cocktail. Why not have a go with this easy to follow cocktail recipe…?

Citron Berry Linger

  • 50ml Ketel One Citroen Vodka
  • 20ml Aperol
  • 15ml Sugar Syrup
  • 20ml Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 Fresh Strawberry

Method: Muddle the strawberry and then add the rest of the ingredients. Shake with ice and double strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a finely sliced strawberry.

Combining our extraordinary vodka with the fruit of the month makes the Citron Berry Linger a perfect treat and a great way to impress if you’re hosting brunch.
