Coffee Farming in Kenya
• KenyaBartender Patrick Mutua from Kenya has a plan to change the lives of coffee farmes one cocktail at a time.
- Once coffee farming was a source of wealth in Kenya. Today a coffee farmer doesn't even make enough to buy a tin of instant coffee. My cousin Florence is one of these farmers and a young family is my reason to create change. I know that if Florence can sell her coffee direct and remove the middleman she can sell her product for more. Ketel One’s approach to creating a positive impact through our drinks inspired me to show my fellow bartenders how we can make a better quality espresso martini with locally sourced coffee from the farmer. - all buy our coffee beans direct through an online group which means we can help farmers like my cousin be financially independent.
